Cesar Atlas Moth - Attacus cesar - Dorsal

A perfect specimen of this very beautiful Atlas moth raised in the Magic Wings Butterfly House in Deerfield, MA. Located high up on a wooden rafter, the moth had been missed by many visitors until I began photographing it. With a simple wooden background, the moths' magnificent coloring; melon, feather-like antennae; "furry" appearance; gossamer portals and diaphanous "eyes" on the tips of its forewings are shown in all their glory. This image is available as a 10x20 upon request.
