Pisac, one of the important Inkan cities in the region, was the second ruin we visited. This mountain top complex overlooks the Yucca Valley and is well recognized for its small, polished stones that fit together perfectly.
We were welcomed to Pisac by the emerging sun highlighted by a rainbow. A beautiful greeting!
The original city was segmented into different neighborhoods highlighted by the Ritual Sector, named Intiwatana (Sun Fastener), where the quality of buildings is truly amazing.
Located on the edge of the Vilcanota River, about 31 km from Cusco, the litte Village of Pisac is still regarded as an important village. At 34,000 meters above sea-level, the villages and communities nearby cover 977.66 hectares.
