The Mighty Niagara - 2003

When you photograph Niagara Falls — one of the Seven Wonders of the World — you hope that you can capture its power and demonstrate its impact on a visitor.

I tried to give you - my visitor - a vision of this breath-taking site.

To do so, I offer photos of the:

• Niagara River that feeds the Falls.
• Slightly less tumultous area surrounding the Three Sister Islands.
• Rainbow Bridge that spans the river between the United States and Canada.
• Two falls that make up this vision — the more well known Horseshoe Falls and the equally beautiful and powerful Bridal Falls — from the top, from the Cave of the Winds Walk beneath and from the Maid of the Mist boat.

During the two days spent, the weather varied from delightfully sunny to threatening rain clouds which made the photographic adventure just a little more challenging. I loved it.

Niagara Falls is shared by two cities named after the Falls, one in Ontario, Canada and the other in New York, USA. The photographs were taken in October from the "American" side of the Falls.

A visitor to the "Canadian" side views a different, but no less spectacular, Falls. I would recommend to anyone making a trip to see this Wonder, that they make a point of viewing the Falls from both sides.
