The Birquash Camel Market, 40 kilometers south of Cairo, is one of the largest and highly regarded camel markets in Egypt.

Every Friday morning, camel traders come from all over Egypt and as far as Sudan, to sell their camels mostly for food and a few for breeding.

A good camel goes for about $500-$600.
